In the spotlight

El Gaucho has a very popular site, and a very popular restaurant. From the outside the website looks like any other Aruban Restaurant site, but the gift certificate ordering system is one of a kind. It is fully automated, and accepts regular secure credit card payments. Any amount can be filled in on the form! It will be instantly available through a secure web page, that can be printed, and given as a special gift. So, if you're late for someone's birthday, here's an excellent idea...

If you are interested in having online payments for your website, please contact our sales department.

Web Security Guide

Google tells us about what happened in the spam world last year:

In November 2008 a large source of the world's spam, the McColo network, was taken offline. Prior to that, spam levels had been holding relatively constant. But when McColo went offline, we saw spam drop by 70% compared with previous levels. However, spammers are recovering with vigor.

Facts and Figures

Statistics of your website can show you how much your effort of putting your products and news online is paying off. If you don't have google analytics yet, let us help you install it on your site. And while you're at it, you can have us do some SEO, which can help your Google and other search engine positions rise. If your site is costing money, not making money, you're doing something wrong!

You may have noticed: tourism is on the decline. If you're in the tourism business, now is the time to invest in your marketing and online presence. The pond is getting smaller, the competition fierce, and the tourist will make up his mind while browsing the web on which apartment, hotel, restaurant or shop to visit. Make sure they find you and feel invited by your website.

If you have newsworthy articles about your (tourism) business, feel free to send us pictures and text, and we will be happy to give you some extra exposure on the news section of visitaruba.com. This is a free service for all clients of VisitAruba.com.

Did you know?

How to market your business online

  • Start with an excellent website. This means showing products, prices, FAQ, contact us, an address. Also have some interactive features for people to return, like a gallery or a forum.
  • Make sure to regularly update your site with news. Place it on a news page, and send it to us for inclusion on VisitAruba.com news (a free service). Make sure to use keywords and phrases for search engines. If you have a CMS (e.g. WordPress or ContentXL), it costs you nothing but a little time, you can update the site yourself.
  • Place ads on VisitAruba.com. VisitAruba.com is a high traffic website, targeted at tourists.
  • Get some other websites to link to yours, the more the better, but beware of scams, such as many 'internet directories', which sometimes even send fake bills. The best links are exchange links, usually for free, as long as the other site has comparable traffic and is on topic.
