The Waterfront Crabhouse is one of CaribMedia's and Visitaruba's oldest clients. The site of the Waterfront Crabhouse was initially hosted as a page under visitaruba.com. In the old days, a one page website would serve fine as a web presence, but nowadays visitors expect more. Online reservation requests is one of the things a visitor expects to see, and the Waterfront Crabhouse website now supports one.
The site is much more attractive than the previous site, showing off professional pictures, delivered to us by the restaurant. The site has a slick looking javascript slideshow on the home page.
The site is built on WordPress, and also uses a special WordPress plugin, which make it possible to embed content from pages, and even other websites. We are using it to show the box with opening hours on the front page, where opening hours itself is a separate page, still editable by the user.
But that's not all: this website has a gallery with multiple albums and a newsletter-mailing list module. Finally, for excellent search engine ranking, the menus of the restaurant are available in multiple PDF downloads, and are on the page as text as well. Try some butterfly fried shrimp!
