Sasaki Apartments modernized their website. While staying with the same straightforward navigation, the site has been overhauled, with many changes under the hood.
The new site has newer, larger pictures, and a slide show on the home page doing the apartment complex more justice. A special consideration has been given to emphasize the location, and on the Google Map the nearby important places are also marked.
The site is again a technical step forward for CaribMedia. Some interesting new technologies used are:
- Web fonts (for the navigation). We have recently started to use this more often as it eliminates the need for time consuming graphical work. Updating the text is also much easier.
- Full javascript slideshow. We have done javascript slideshows in the past, but the one used here is very smooth, and even supports the Ken Burns effect, though this was not used here. The slideshow is also not dependant on a CMS or other external software.
- Turbo button. The site uses a special script to combine, save, and compress the files needed for the site, thereby increasing the performance over 20%.
