Econo Car Rental has a new website.
The site has been kept simple on the front, but don't be deceived. It is ContentXL, and has all the features that brings by default: a powerful CMS capable of doing simple updates, but also mailing lists, faqs, and much more.
To keep the site plain and simple for the users who need to update, however, we kept the features of ContentXL limited. But within the pages we did create some interesting new things:
- Slide show on home page - this is not the regular image slide show. It is a 'content slide show' that dynamically retrieves content from ContentXL articles or pages and includes them in the slide show. Buttons underneath allow for navigation.
- Image swap - on the cars page, a small script was created for the user to view different pictures of cars.
- Inline content - Also on the home page you see how two boxes are shown, which retrieve their content from other pages. This makes updating sections of a page a lot easier. There's no limit set to how many times content is re-used.
